In September 2023, The Argonne was put up for sale. DC law allowed us to have some say about The Argonne’s future if we formed a tenants association.
So we did. BMC is now the owner.
We are the voice of tenants. We have power - if we put in time, effort, and smarts.

In partnership with CARECEN Social Services Organization and the D.C. Department of Housing and Community Development, over 75 residents got together and created the Argonne Tenants Association (ATA).
To gain considerable powers under DC law, ATA had to recruit 139 households (50% + 1 of occupied units). With the help of a newly established board and 24 volunteers, we 235 members representing 170+ households.
